Well, it only took five subs...

... to get me annoyed. Every year I say, "no severed body parts," and every year one or more authors seem to feel that I will somehow find the severed body part(s) in THEIR stories charming. Well, I don't. I'm a wimp, and I'm proud of it. No severed body parts! No dead babies! Yes, it's possible to write horror stories without those elements.

Exactly what I just did.

I've never thought of either of you as the "severed body parts-type," writing-wise that is. :-)

Don't be so sure. I've been known to write about the occasional severed body part...but generally they are genteel, subtle, _classy_ severed body parts ;)

I really don't like engaging in "thou shall nots" on the guidelines page, because severed body parts in the um...right hands (like yours)...can make all the difference, but after a while it just became easier to "outlaw" them because my stomach flips a bit too easily.

Yeah. I really prefer my horror on the atmospheric (read: old-fashioned) side. But those newfangled severed body parts just keep crawling back. (See, I'm even a little grossed out by what I just wrote.) :-)
