Slushteria, part the third

We hit the halfway point of Raven Electrick's February submission period yesterday, with 143 subs (79 stories and 64 poems). I've read 94 total, with 75 rejections, two acceptances, and 17 holds. I'm well ahead of where I usually am at this point, but I may take a little breather to avoid burnout. No one wants a cranky, impatient editor reading their submission. (I know I wouldn't.)

Inside tips: In case you're looking for an area in which to target your energies, I don't have any SF stories in my holds folder yet, so that genre is still wide open. I already have two vampire stories on hold, so that's not the best area of concentration. Poetry has had a more even spread between the genres this time out, so no lacunae to report there.

I've now read all submissions sent through February 6, and a few scattered ones thereafter. I also did a wee bit of weeding on the holds folder, so here's what's currently awaiting a second or third reading, coded as follows:

The first letter stands for "fiction" or "poetry." Letters two and three are the first two letters of the author's last name. Letters four and five are the first two letters of the story title, excluding articles. The final character is the number for the day of submission in February.
