Back from Beantown

Just dropping in quickly to explain my two-week absence from LJ. During that time, Bob and I traveled from Los Angeles back East for a lovely, eight-day visit with our families in Boston and Maine. Since then, I've been trying to play catch-up, but my body hasn't been cooperative, spawning allergic responses and shunning sleep. I've got a lot of news, but I'll need to parcel it out a bit at a time.

In the meantime, one of my favorite photos from the trip. For some reason, I'd really been jonesing for a visit to the Public Garden. (Nostalgia's grip on me seems ever firmer as the years pass.) I wasn't disappointed--the landscaping was magnificent, and Bob and I had a romantic walk along the paths.

I've always wanted to write a speculative poem inspired by the swan boats, but I've never managed to come up with a satisfactory idea. I'll keep trying. If anyone knows of such a poem already written, please point me in that direction.
